Capcom Classics Collection XBox Review

This is a compilation of Capcom arcade games. I was pretty disappointed when I discovered it’s not the home games like I grew up with this. These are just the arcade games and having Nintendo ports of Commando and Bionic Commando would have been great. This compilation might contain $5,000 worth of quarter eating fun (like the box says), but not even the online leader boards will keep you coming back for more than nostalgia. A lot of the games feel very stale and clunky by today’s standards. 1942 – A top down arcade shooter, blow up planes, its a … Continue reading Capcom Classics Collection XBox Review

Dino Crisis PlayStation Review

Steven Spielberg proved that Dinosaurs could be menacing and terrorizing and this game only adds to it. This game is similar to Resident Evil (also from Capcom), but more dangerous, because the dinosaurs actually run and jump over things to eat you, unlike sluggish zombies. Rather than stalking screen to screen like with Resident Evil, you can now run through a room and the camera will follow you, making for great chases (Dinosaurs chasing you), but unfortunately this leaves the player at a great disadvantage, because the camera is focused on the player, not the room, so Dinosaurs constantly get … Continue reading Dino Crisis PlayStation Review

Resident Evil 3: Nemisis PlayStation Review

For anyone who has not played this stellar game series, this is what you call a “survival horror” game, which means you have a gun, you are alone and you have 1000s of zombies, dogs, ravens, monsters and mutants after you. The third installment of the Resident Evil game series actually takes place before the second game, so you are writing the future, playing as the lead heroine Jill (who survived the first game). You start out on the streets of Raccoon City, which has been ravaged by zombies, and you work your way to the Police Station and back … Continue reading Resident Evil 3: Nemisis PlayStation Review

Saturday Night Slammasters SNES Review

Capcom in the late 80s had WWF wrestling games in the arcade, now they have taken it home to the Super Nintendo. There is one catch though, this is not the WWF, these wrestlers are all completely original! There are 10 wrestlers, and each is huge and nicely detailed with original moves for each of them, some are more unbelievable than normal wrestling games (Such as Mike Haggar’s flying pile driver.). Something else original is that there are lots of submissions, once the wrestler in the submission loses their energy, they lose the match. This is an original game too, … Continue reading Saturday Night Slammasters SNES Review
