WWF WrestleMania NES Review

Wrestling and more specifically the WWF, now WWE always has booms and busts. One of the biggest boom periods for the wrestling company was back in the 80s and it all started in 1985 with the first WrestleMania. It wasn’t … Continue reading WWF WrestleMania NES Review

WWF: Superstars Game Boy Review

This is the first WWF Game Boy game, the graphics are good for the Game Boy, but there isn’t really too much to it. Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, the Ultimate Warrior, Ted Dibiase and Mr. Perfect are all here, but with the same moves. Five wrestlers, only 1 vs 1 matches make for a very short game. There is out of the ring action if you push select at the right time, but mostly its kicks, punches, stomps, running elbow drops, slams and suplexes. No finishers, but each wrestler has a generic special move. The other WWF games for Game … Continue reading WWF: Superstars Game Boy Review

WWE Raw 2 XBox Review

This is not a step forward from the last Raw game, instead it’s a big step sideways. Raw 2 is like the game makers perfected the original Raw game (it only took them 2 years). First off this is a wrestling game, the player may select from one of over sixty WWE “superstars” to compete in a match. During this match the player may use different strikes by pressing the directional pad and the X button and may grapple his opponent by pressing the A button. When performing a grapple, the player can do a weak maneuver by pressing X … Continue reading WWE Raw 2 XBox Review

WWE Raw PC Review

This is the same exact game that came out 18 months ago for the X-Box. To prove it, the game still uses WWF and not WWE. The roster was not updated, so its still the roster from late 2001. There is no story mode (Road to Wrestlemania), instead there are championship modes where you need to go through 12 wrestlers to get a title shot. The Raw arena is the ONLY arena and there are no backstage areas. Nor is there any real hardcore action, because even though there are 100s of weapons, these weapons are helmets, tables, jack-o-lanterns, chairs, … Continue reading WWE Raw PC Review

WWF Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game PlayStation Review

The first wrestling game to grace the Playstation, and it offers arcade-fighting action in and out of the ring. Arcade meaning that you press forward, forward punch to perform a move. There are only eight true to life superstars, Bret Hart, the Undertaker, HBK, Razor Ramon, Doink the Clown, Bam Bam Bigelow, Yokozuna, Lex Luger and one hidden superstar, so you may get bored with frequent matches. There are some incredible animations though, but it does get goofy though, with hit combinations, Lex Lugers arm turning into a mace, Bam Bam Bigelow is capable to light his opponents on fire … Continue reading WWF Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game PlayStation Review

WWF Raw XBox Review

After months of hype, the game was finally released far lower than expectations. There is no story mode (Road to Wrestlemania), instead there are championship modes where you need to go through 12 wrestlers to get a title shot. The Raw arena is the ONLY arena and there are no backstage areas. Nor is there any real hardcore action, because even though there are 1000s of weapons, these weapons are helmets, tutus, jack-o-lanterns, chairs, bandanas and so on. The wrestlers do not bleed at all, not even with a code! There is a pretty deep create-a-wrestler feature, however you can … Continue reading WWF Raw XBox Review

WWF With Authority! PC Review

The great PC hype known as With Authority is a CD-ROM strategy game where it is exactly like a card game. You start the game by selecting a wrestler which has been given certain “cards” and each card is an attribute like a slam, a dropkick, a pin, a finisher, a burst of power, a block, a kick-up from a pin and so on like that. Much like the popular card game for “Magic the Gathering”, only you play it on your computer. There are no videos, or animation, merely pictures and sound clips! Much like the “Magic the Gathering” … Continue reading WWF With Authority! PC Review

Saturday Night Slammasters SNES Review

Capcom in the late 80s had WWF wrestling games in the arcade, now they have taken it home to the Super Nintendo. There is one catch though, this is not the WWF, these wrestlers are all completely original! There are 10 wrestlers, and each is huge and nicely detailed with original moves for each of them, some are more unbelievable than normal wrestling games (Such as Mike Haggar’s flying pile driver.). Something else original is that there are lots of submissions, once the wrestler in the submission loses their energy, they lose the match. This is an original game too, … Continue reading Saturday Night Slammasters SNES Review
